THE CONSERVATORYAN EXPERIMENT IN BECOMING
OBSERVE / INTERVENE / SEE WHAT CHANGES

A place
to learn.

Meet Lumen. Give it a world to understand, watch what it expects, and intervene when you see another possibility.

Three interactive habitats. Each asks a small question about learning through consequences.

01 / CARE

Keep two beds alive.

Travel costs time. Valves, shade and drains change the water balance. Watch Lumen care for the beds, or send it to a mechanism yourself.

02 / CONNECTION

Find what opens a gate.

Push a crate onto a pressure plate. Test which door it controls, then carry those observations into a different room.

03 / PRESERVATION

Change only what matters.

Reach a target appearance while preserving the surroundings. Compare predicted and measured edits, or try a photograph of your own.

YOUR FIRST FEW MINUTES

Watch, then intervene.

  1. Start with the nursery. Press Resume to begin. Pausing keeps simulation time still.
  2. Try one intervention. Open a valve or draw a shade. Lumen travels to the mechanism; the world continues changing on each step.
  3. Read the next decision. What did Lumen expect? What did it observe? Did its explanation change?

AN EXPERIMENT, WITH ITS EVIDENCE ATTACHED

Look closely at what improves.

The controls and physics are authored. Lumen learns within those boundaries. Completed studies include successes, failures and cases where more planning did not help. They do not establish general intelligence or consciousness.
