The figure occupies the right side and faces a broad untouched left interval. The knee projects toward that interval beneath an upright torso. A dark knee underside and darker inner torso begin a useful value structure, but the pale shoulder, outlined face and scattered lower cloth remain separate passages.

Loss: The open paper now contains a ribbon-like hair cap, combed torso marks and detached lower wedges. Their regular tapering weakens the intended charcoal weight; preserving them would constrain further construction.

The left-facing figure remains on the right against a broad untouched interval. Its pale projecting knee reaches into that space beneath a darker torso. In the candidate, the thicker arm-and-lap band and gathered cloth below the knee give the lower body more continuity, while the exposed shoulder and knee preserve unequal lights.

Loss: The new torso dark reads as a swollen vertical ribbon, and the folded arm becomes a thick curved band rather than a clear crossing plane. The lower support gains continuity at the cost of overlapping petal-like ends. The pale knee still has a bowl-shaped rim.

The right-weighted upright figure faces the broad left paper, with a pale knee projecting into that interval. The candidate extends a middle-valued thigh beneath the torso toward the right, making the seated body broader. Its lighter crossing forearm interrupts the former dark arm arc, while paper still enters the lower-right boundary.

Loss: The new thigh and underside form stacked rounded bands. They obscure some of the retained drawing's open lower rhythm without establishing a decisive ground contact. The projecting knee still resembles a bowl, and the upright torso remains ribbon-like.

The upright figure occupies the right of the sheet and faces a broad left interval. The projecting paper-light knee reaches toward that interval beneath a darker torso and lighter crossing forearm. In the candidate, a stronger diagonal dark descends from the knee underside into the low cloth, while the right thigh remains a broader middle and its lower boundary stays open.

Loss: The low support becomes heavier and more pointed on the left, and a small isolated dark stroke near the lower center attracts attention without carrying much weight. The pale central cloth is more exposed, but still reads between separate rounded deposits rather than as a convincing folded plane.

The upright figure stays right of the sheet, facing broad left paper. The projecting light knee reaches into that interval, while a diagonal underside dark descends toward the low cloth. The candidate places a substantial middle beneath the hands and beside the remaining knee light, joining the crossing arm more fully to the receiving lap.

Loss: The new receiving passage has a rounded, patch-like left edge and crowds the hand junction. It diminishes the retained frame's clear light interval without yet replacing the bowl construction with a decisive folded thigh. The crescent remains the strongest account of the knee.

The upright figure remains right-weighted, facing broad left paper. The pale shoulder and projecting knee separate the upper and lower reaches of the body. In the candidate, the knee underside is less emphatically curved, and a broader middle descends toward the low dark contact. The lower-right boundary remains open.

Loss: The retained drawing's clear knee underside becomes softer and less decisive. The candidate's broad middle partially muddies the fold without establishing a new upper plane, so improved continuity comes with weaker articulation.

The right-weighted upright figure faces broad left paper, with the knee extending farther left than the head. The dark torso, pale shoulder and crossing arm establish an unequal upper rhythm. In the candidate, a broader lap middle carries that reach back toward the body, while paper still enters beneath the right cloth.

Loss: The transverse deposit reads partly as a flat ribbon across the knee opening, and the new low dark has a rounded, isolated end. The retained drawing's lighter central cloth had more breathing room. The candidate exchanges some of that openness for useful breadth without yet establishing a convincing seated pelvis.

The left-facing profile and upright shoulder remain right-weighted above a knee that projects into broad left paper. The candidate carries the dark torso farther down into a substantial lap middle, while the pale crossing forearm and shoulder remain distinct. Paper still enters beneath the right cloth. This preserves U03's unequal placement and makes the lower omission depend more convincingly on support elsewhere.

Loss: The extended waist reads as a curved strap curling into a rounded pelvis deposit. It crowds the forearm junction and replaces the retained drawing's more open central cloth with a heavier, less articulated middle. The knee's pale opening and upper arc still retain some authority.

The pale shoulder and left-facing profile rise on the right, while the knee projects farther into broad left paper. A dark upright passage answers the diagonal dark beneath the knee. The candidate opens the central lap by shortening the waist dark; the missing lower-right boundary survives, but the lower body still reads through overlapping rounded deposits.

Loss: The retained drawing carries the torso more continuously into the lower mass. The candidate weakens that bearing: its blunt waist ending sits against a soft, poorly differentiated middle. The receiving cloth remains rounded rather than becoming a clear folded plane. This loss matters, but the retained connection's dominant strap construction is a less useful foundation than the candidate's released junction.

The left-facing profile and pale shoulder rise on the right above a knee projecting into broad left paper. The dark torso and diagonal lower-left bearing bracket lighter cloth. In the candidate, the lower middle extends farther right beneath the crossing forearm, giving the upright rise a broader seated counterweight while paper remains exposed beneath the outer right cloth.

Loss: The receiving mass becomes a broad rounded lobe with overlapping band edges, and the new low dark reads partly as a separate tab. The retained drawing's lower cloth was more permeable to paper. The candidate sacrifices that openness for useful weight, but has not made the folds or their overlap convincing.
